Eating Fresh and Close to Home

Thanksgiving, my favorite holiday of holidays. Perhaps the only one not completely hijacked by corporate America but one still steeped in consumerism. The consumption of ridiculous quantities of food and grog that is.

I hope all are stuffing yourselves on faceshots in the backcountry, smearing frosting off the lip at a favorite spot or simply gorging yourselves until comatosed with friends or family close to home. Give thanks

Your last 2 posts lead me to believe your sorta missing the white stuff??? Guessing you have plans to visit friends in high places?

No BC face shots or frothy lips to bash this past holiday, but did ride the chairlift several times and got some cruisey turns in.

I'm missing the wild. I'm missing the humble pie of strong current and a good long hold down. I'm missing the power and awesomeness of nature to remind me of how small I am, and how ridiculous and trite the day to day grind really is.

I don't mind the flipflops, 80* weather and tan in Nov. though.

No white stuff for me this season. Off to Panama for 3 weeks next Wednesday. Should be grand.

Hope you get to "quaff the fresh" under the lights up at SkiBowl this winter. Get yourself up to high places if you can friend, b/c it's fucking flat in Florida.
